Position Summary
We also have developmentally and age appropriate education programs that address hygiene, healthy eating, and taking care of systems of the body. These education programs will be taken to schools settings and be taught to a variety of student audiences within our five county area.
The AmeriCorps member will be asked to map resources within the 5 county area to support children and families who come to our center for services.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Engaging in outreach and promoting health education topics and healthcare services
- Facilitating and conducting healthcare and wellness trainings and classes
- Implementing and executing program using established protocols
- Planning and preparing classes
- Keeping and organizing documentation and records
The AmeriCorps member will teach curriculum programs in schools on topics of hygiene, nutrition, health and wellness, and systems of the body.
The AmeriCorps member will be trained in injury prevention topics through Safe Kids Northeast Florida and will be certified as a Child Passenger Safety Technician to conduct car seat safety checks.
The AmeriCorps member will be asked to map resources within the 5 county area to support children and families who come to our center for services.

Knowledge Required for the Position
Knowledge of AmeriCorps/Health Corps member requirements, Skill with Microsoft Office or other software for a variety of data processing operations involving a range of problem solving, record keeping, correspondence, and service tracking options.
Supervision
Member uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments following set procedures, independently, The supervisor assigns service activities, advises on changes in procedures, and is available for assistance when required
Review
The service activities are reviewed for accuracy through spot checks, through complaints from customers, and through observation of the member at service., Completed projects are reviewed very generally to determine that objectives have been met and are in compliance with policies and regulations.
Guidelines
Written and oral guides provide specific instructions for doing service, Detailed guidelines exist, including regulations and directives, handbooks, precedents, industry standards, and files of previous projects, Member must use considerable judgment in adapting current or developing new guidance

Unusual service hours, involving evenings, weekends, or long shifts, Personal vehicle required, Health screening or service required, Criminal history check requirements beyond those required by National Health Corps
Language Proficiency Requirements
Is proficiency in a language other than English required? No
